Outlook 2000 Send Email not saved in Inbox

I'm stumped & hope someone out there can help. My Dad has somehow managed to change his outlook settings on his machine so that whenever he forwards/replies to an email
it is automatically deleted from his inbox.
This is driving him nuts & therefore I'm being asked to fix it -however being the last known netscape user I can't seem
to stumble upon what setting he changed.
Tried turning off all his rules & that didn't help. Reviewed all the obvious setup properties under tools & nothing seems to jump out as an obvious fix.


Anyone have a similar occurance or can anyone shed some light on options I may have missed.

For forwarded messages - Under Tools ->Options [preferences tab] click Email options and then advanced email options. In the first section make sure "save forwarded messages" is checked.

For replies - (I'm guessing here) Make sure that under Tools ->Options [preferences tab] in Email options that "send copies of messages in sent items folder" is checked. That's the only thing I can see that would cause replied to messages not being saved.

Thanks but Unfortunately both are 'checked' & this behavior is still occuring.
The one odd thing is that this began occuring after he had accidently turned off/deleted his tool bar but I don't see any where one could 'customize' a tool bar to react this way.
Guess maybe I'll try setting up a new outlook account on his machine & see if behaves the same way.

While in the Inbox, make sure View, Current View, is set to 'show all messages'
