When receiving from internet accounts, I get the message:

"Some messages couldn't be retrieved from the server. This usually happens when the connection to the server is lost due to server or network problems...".

I only get the message when there is mail to receive.
It is not the ISP as I am able to pick the mail up from my lap-top.

Sending works fine.

I think it might have something to do with being in "Corporate or workgroup" mode (I also connect to an exchange server using a different profile - this works fine).

I beginning to lose it. Please save me.

Try recreating your internet account/service in the problematic profile. You might also type the ip address of the POP3 server, instead of the usual name (i.e. mail.verizon.net).

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've recreated the service and the profile loads of times, and I've even reinstalled Outlook.

I hadn't tried the ip address idea til now; afraid it didn't work though.
