Hi,

Is this a known bug in Outlook 2000? This is causing the company for whom I provide IT support major problems because we can't rely on the diary being accurate.

We are on Office 2000 SP1. Do we need any patches/upgrades?

I am being put under MAJOR pressure to get this problem resolved, so if it can't be fixed by "self-help", does anyone have a phone number for Microsoft in the UK (I know we'll have to pay).

I do hope you can help.

Regards,
Jay

I am not sure I completely understand the problem. All I can see is that there is an issue with missing calendar items.

If you can provide more detail of the problem, I or someone on this forum may be able to help.

If you are absolutley desperate and need something now, go to this link, which describes how to purchase support from Microsoft (including a phone number - it ain't cheap!).

Hi,

The missing items are usually recurring entries which are "all day" entries, usually showing at the top of the screen in those grey boxes.

Certain entries may be missing on one person's screen but visible on another.

We are using a Calender under Public Folders. Our network is an NT4 network supporting Exchange 5.5.

Jay

I'm afraid neither of these articles related to the problem I am experiencing.

Kind Regards,
Jay

I didn't think so, but thought they might generate ideas. Unless someone else can come up with something, I am out of ideas.

Do the person's have the same permissions to the Calendar in the Public Folder? Is the Sensitivity of the appointments remaining set to NORMAL or is it being changed? joegz

Hi,

I have discovered that the real problem here is that Outlook will not show more than 12 all-day entries in Day View on our screens which are set to 800 x 600 resolution. It seems to ditch the last entries put in, in favour of "older" ones.

I understand we can increase screen resolution to get 16, but this is impractical as we all have 15" monitors which are unworkable at higher resolutions - everything's too small.

Is there a way of viewing all the all-day events on a particular day in a different view where we can be SURE they are all showing, no matter how many there are?

Regards,
Jay

Jay,
Have you ever found a solution to this problem?
I am experiencing the same thing with my newly created shared calendar. I would prefer that people put thier travel dates in as all day events so that it prints out nicely, but people with lower screen resolutions are only able to view 11 items.

I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me how to solve this!

Kristine

Hi Kristine,

Afraid not. Microsoft told me that the program only displays 11 entries in 800 x 600 resolution, a few more in higher resolutions, but in any event not more than (as I recall) about 16.

I find this pre-set limit really frustrating.

Jay

Jay - did you ever isolate the problem of missing calendar items in Exchange public folders? I am having this problem as well. It appears it may be related to Norton Anti-virus but I wanted to check with you since your issue seemed so similar to mine.

Thanks for your help.

Victoria

Hi,

It's a Microsoft limitation, apparently.

For which I am STILL hoping and praying for a resolution, because the missing items are causing a lot of friction in our offices because people think that someone's meant to be at work when they are actually on holiday or off sick!!!

Regards,
Jay/UK
