outlook 2000 group email management

If I set up a distribution group in Outlook of say 3-4 people to answer help desk emails, is there a way for the rest of the group to be notified if one person answers an email so that the rest of the group will ignore that email?

I would set up the help desk as an individual email address, then log in as help desk and give delegate rights to everyone in your group. They can all then use the single help desk account.
Trying to do something similar myself so will be most interested in all the responses.
