I have a problem with email name resolution in Outlook 2000 (SP3).
Normally, when I type part of someones name from the company address book into the "To" field of an email, several seconds later, the rest of the name is correctly filled in. Now, for some reason, it has stopped automatically completing the recipients name which has become very frustrating.

What I've tried:

Under Advanced email options, "Automatic Name Checking" is selected. Un-selected it, restarted Outlook then re-selected it. Email name resolution is still not working.

The correct address book is selected under the "Addressing" tab in the "Services" window. Removed address list, restarted Outlook then added the address list again - still not working.

Created a new nickname cache (.nk2 .nick file) but that didn't work either.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

try contacts-properties-outlook address book - show this folder as an email address book.

also in advanced email options check the box "suggest names when completing to cc fields "

let me know if this worked.

thanks for the reply, but unfortunately it didn't work, although I couldn't actually find the "suggest names when completing to cc fields" in the advanced email options or under any other menu.
