Outlook 2000 doesn't completely close

Happy New Year to All.

We have a user whose Outlook 2000 does not close completely. The Outlook application closes when you hit the close button, but a message displays :

"Please wait wile Microsoft Outlook exits"....but it just stays there forever, have to go to Task Manager and end the process. We have tried detect and repair,deleted all temp files and cookies, to no avail.No any other user is having similar problem.
Operating System is Windows XP SP2,MS Office 97,Outlook 2000 SR-1.
