Hi,

My colleague is using Outlook 2000 as his address book - with a personal Contacts List and another in a Public Folder called "Office Contacts".

However, when he calls up a new e-mail in Outlook and clicks on To, he gets the correct list of e-mail addresses.

But when he calls up a Word 2000 document and tries to e-mail it by using Send To ... Mail Recipient, it doesn't pick up this list, but tries to find a - non-existent - list of addresses from Outlook Express, which he has never used.

He has changed PCs recently, but the setup is identical, as far I can see.

Can you help me please?

Regards,
Jay/UK

Hi,
Is Outlook the default mail program? You can check: On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Other.
Under General, select the Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar check box.

Hi,

I'm sure it is.

Under Tools/Options/Other/General, I don't have the option you mention, there's only 1 option "Empty the deleted items upon exiting".

The other sections are AutoArchive and Preview Pane.

I'm using Outlook 2000.

Can you help me further ?

Regards,
Jay/UK

This is a shot in the dark, but in case it applies to your situation...

Hi Dcompto,

This sounded very promising when I read it.

But I tried it and it makes no difference at all !

Can someone else help me?

Regards,

Open Internet Explorer and go to Internet Options on the Tools menu. Programs Tab --> make sure that Outlook (not Outlook Express) is listed as the Email program. This will cause Windows to utilize Outlook for any email commands.

Often on install of IE, many people agree to the message box asking if they want OE to be the default mail program without ever reading it.
