outlok express problem

Hello!quick question.when i go to my outlook express and click on a message that has an attachment i used to get a pop up box saying to the effect that the message could contain a virus and had to check off a box to open the picture.some reason this is gone and now it opens right away.i went into options and put a check in the box that said do not open attachment that could contain virus.but that did not work.and suggestions?thanks in advance.

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Outlook Express.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

When you've read the above article you can try this -

You can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and entering the following command:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

You will need to have your XP CD available. If you re-install remember to update it.
