This is an IP Office R 9.1 with analog lines. The have intermittent issues making outgoing calls. The site reports that “nothing happens” occasionally – no error tone, no message on their 9508 display, just silence when they try to make a call. They can try the same call again immediately or a few minutes later and it goes through fine. This happens across all extensions and lines.

I spoke to the carrier today. They see these calls hitting their system but only for a couple seconds or even milliseconds, not long enough for their equipment to actually process the call. On their end it looks like the user dialed the number and then hung up immediately.

I have monitor logs and call examples if you want to take a look.

First thing I would do is to put a Butt set on each line and make numerous calls from each line .at least 20 calls to try and seize the faulty equipment

If it happens when you do this then the problem will be with the carrier.

I have had similar issues with intermittent not breaking dial tone and dead air.
It took at least 10 calls on each line before I found the faulty line.

It took sleazy 10 calls on each line before I found the faulty line.

Where you dressed in a gimp mask and leather pants (with the bum cut out) and holding a whip or something? :-)

Not to sure what that means...but the word sleazy should have read "at least "
This iPad predictive text must have changed it and I did't it read it back properly..

Re edited the post to say correct word.
I suppose when I re-read the post again I see he said it was all lines but my issue was only 1 line was faulty out of the 5 line group .

But thanks for pointing it out...[thanks2]
