Hi everyone,

I've some issue trying to withhold my caller ID over a E1 ISDN trunk (Virgin Media, UK).

I previously asked my service provider to let us pass some digits out so we can display different caller ID, but I would like to be able to hide my caller ID sometime.

Also, I'm confuse how COS does work. What takes precedence between IP set, IP trunk and ISDN trunk if they all uses different COS ?

Many thanks

Calling name, Calling number or both?

if your talking 3300 configure a different leading digit in ars that points to a route with a digit mod that inserts 141 e.g. instead of 9 to dial out use 7 to dial out and withhold cli.
alternatively the users can dial leading digit (probably 9) 141 telephone number. again ARS needs programming accordingly.

to send a different cli to the network look at CPN substitution in the mitel help.

hope this helps

@kwbMitel : I try to withhold my caller ID (name and number) when I access the public network.

@james Well I tried this 141 solution, but I get "Invalid" when I dial out. When I check the trace, the remote PBX reply "incomplet address"( I tried both 14107XXXXXXXXX and 01417XXXXXXXXX)

Anything I missed ?

If you want to pick and choose which calls display and which do not from any specific phone, you have a lot of programming to do.

If you want to block all calls, you have minimal programming to do.

For James1982's solution, you may require a lot of programing depending on how many restiction levels you have and whether the code offered by James will tell the CO to block the ID. I am assuming that 141 is used in the UK to block Caller ID. If this is not the case, educate me.

To prove James's method I suggest you try using Direct Trunk selection. You will need a feature access code for DTS. Additionally you will need to know if any Call-by-Call digits are required. Check your Modified digit table for digits to be inserted. If Call-by-Call is active you will typically see {000} inserted. To test, dial FAQ + CallxCall (if any) then 141# and if dialtone is returned, proceed to dial the number.
