I have searched different terms and phrases, and could not find anything like I am needing.

I have a small office that has all CO trunks, and the office has 3 divisions that have their own main lines (CO trunks). How could I program ARS to allow each of those divisions to make outbound calls only on their respective lines? They want to make sure the departments to do not share lines for the most part, so calls can be received for the respective division.

Example:
xxx-1111 thru xxx-1114 belongs to A
xxx-2221 thru xxx-2223 belongs to B
xxx-3331 thru xxx-3332 belongs to C

Hello dpctelcom,

Depending on the software version you are running, you can do this via user rights short code programming, or on the individual user short code programming.

Step 1:
Isolate trunks for outbound dialing by changing the outbound group ID to something unique
EG:
Trunk 1
inbound line group:0
outbound line group:1
Trunk 2
inbound line group:0
outbound line group:2
Trunk 3
inbound line group:0
outbound line group:3
Trunk 4
inbound line group:0
outbound line group:4

Once this is done, you can then program a shortcode on the user shortcode forcing outbound calls from that user/station out the line group you specify.
Code: 9N
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: N
Line group: (WHATEVER LINE GROUP YOU WANT THIS USER TO MAKE CALLS OUT ON. IN MY EXAMPLE ABOVE- TRUNK 4 USES OUTBOUND LINE GROUP ID 4. SO IF YOU ENTER LINE GROUP 4- 100% OF THIS USER'S OUTBOUND CALLS WILL ROUTE ONLY ON TRUNK 4.

***IF YOU WANT TO CONTROL INBOUND ROUTING ON EACH TRUNK, CHANGE INBOUND LINE GROUP ID, AND CREATE AN INCOMING CALL ROUTE USING THE UNIQUE LINE GROUP ID.
EG:
Trunk 4
inbound line group:4 <-- CHANGE TO 4 FROM DEFAULT ZERO
outbound line group:4

This is really IPO 101
You need to use shortcodes.
