Customer wishes to have outbound number and name sent when calling out. Sample Short Code built: Nsi480xxxxxxxZ"Test" is this correct? I also read that in the PRI Line Setup that you must select DMS100 vs. NI2. Is this correct as well? I understand that the service provider must be setup to accept this being sent out via the PRI D Channel. They claim that they are already setup as such.

Only NI2 supports caller ID name and number. The IP Office does not send the name when dealing with a PRI. You send the number. The service provider then sees that number and attaches the name to it. Ns4805551212 or Nsi4805551212 (obviously replacing the tel number portion with their main number) will work depending upon what the provider wants to see.

You can't control the name, only the number. The name that is displayed is done by the telco serving the called number. They take the number, dip into a database, and display the name along with the number to the receiver.

Seems different countries have different workings.
Canada which I call home you can send name and number along I just use the shortcode you do without the i so Ns123456789Z"Troublemaker1" and it works on DMS100 only that is correct.
All comes down to your provider accepting it. You can trace with Monitor and unheck all but the ISDN (use Check tab all option" then you can see if it sends the information out and you are golden.

Westi, thanks for confirming that is what I understood was added at R6.0+. The carrier claims they can support it, so I will test with them as soon as they have a tech available. I will report back to the thread.

Interesting. In the US we cannot send the name. The service provider is responsible for that portion and the IPO can only manipulate the number.

If you don't send anything then they will fill in the name and number to whatever they think is your main number. That causes sometimes the funniest outcomes.
If you only send the number they match it up with the database entries but they also are sometimes outdated and I had different company names come up.

I'm in Canada and we have just upgraded from an IP406 to a IP500v2, and while the Z code in the shortcode works (it shows the info in " " after the Z), I can't find a way to make it just show the name of the User... I thought this was on by default... I don't want to go in every user's shortcode to add a dial with Z code...

Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks :)

Okay it seems that I had to reboot the switch for it to work. It's now showing the name (but not the full name). Is there a way to switch it to the full name?

Thanks :)
