I have a few users whose OOA does not work properly. It does not send an OOA reply when it is turned on. I am running Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000. I tried a work around by creating a rule to fire a reply message, but it does not seem to be working for people outside of the company. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is there a fix for it? Thanks in advance.

Check the limits for their mailbox to see if they have the ability to send messages.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

Thanks for the help, I will check both of those out, and let you know how it goes.

I have seen OOA not work if the auto-reply message is too long.

Thanks to all for the help. While searching the other forums I found a pretty good MSKB article that describes how to fix the OOF. It is actually due to corrupted rules on the server side. I was able to fix this by running the exmerge utility on the server to delete all of the inbox rules. The exmerge utility is included in the Microsoft Backoffice Resource Kit. Below is the link to the Microsoft Knowledege Base Article.....

Thanks again,

Mark

Thank You for putting how you resolved the issue. It seems alot of people ask for help and then never tell us the resolution.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.
