Here's the situation. I have a 4 PC network. PC-A uses Excel and can go through the program to PCs B and C with no problem. Whenever she attempts to connect to user D, however, she gets an "Out of memory" error. She was able to connect fine to PC-D up until 2 days ago. The network is working fine, she can send and receive files between PC A and PC D with no problem. PC-D can go in and access his Excel 97 with no problems. The versions of software on all four PCs are the same.

My thought is that something has changed or become corrupted on User A's PC in excel97 to prevent her from connecting through Excel to User D's computer. Anyone have any clues as to how to fix this? It was working fine up until 2 days ago. Thank you.

Just a clarification on the above question...the PCs are all using Service Release 1 of Excel 97, and the error originally occurred when User A tried to access excel files on her own pc. Now it only happens when she tries to access an excel file on PC-D. Users B and C can access PC-D just fine.

One more clarification....this occurs now when she tries to open a file (and modify it) on PC-D. I am going to try to reinstall Excel 97 over the old install to see it fthis fixes the problem. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

b4 u re-install,

how much free disk space on system D? what's ur cache (swap file) size? may want to increase it if the resources r taxed

PC-D has several Gigs free disk space. I am not sure exactly on how much availiable resources, but the oher PCs in the office all connect to PC-D fine, and PC-D connects to everyone else fine. Only PC-A has a prblem connecting, and only when connecting to PC-D. It is a very odd problem.
