I have a user who when attaching a file, it doesn't stay attached, so it doesn't show up when sent. I'm going to reload the program, (Outlook 2000, Win98, se), but has anybody seen this before? Thanks. Glen A. Johnson

Glen, it probably has nothing to do with you. That person probably has a release or version of Outlook with email security that doesn't allow "unsafe" attachments. See about how you or they can get around it. You can try changing the file extension to TXT, and they can change it back after they've received it. Anne Troy

Actually, when I went out there, there was an error message that said "Word does not have enough memory." and Word wasn't open. I checked and she had "Use Word as you E-Mail Editor" turned on. I un-checked this, and the attachments worked. I did a repair, and after she re-boots were going to try and turn the Word thing back on. Worse case scenario, she won't be able to use Word. Thanks for the quick response. Glen A. Johnson

Sure. You're welcome...

That error message could be an indication of several things:

1) It's a side effect of the nimda virus.
2) The normal.dot file could be corrupt (see troubleshooting Word at 3) The email.dot file could be corrupt (rename the same way as described for normal.dot at the troubleshooting link)
4) There's trashy files on her hard drive (see Anne Troy

The other interesting thing is there is an e-mail in her outbox that won't go away. If you try and delete it, it says it's already started sending it. Glen A. Johnson
