We are looking to upgrade an old MapD Intuity Audix machine that supplies voicemail to 3 Avaya PBX switches, release 8 through release 11. Need to find out if there is better technology voicemail systems, other than AUDIX, that is compatable to our Avaya switches.

It is breaking down (reboots on it's own during business hours). It is about 9 years old and we need to replace because it is no longer supported.

Using mode code with digital ports for integration we have quite a few hanging off CSI , SI as well as AUDIX
but like the prior post askes whats wrong with Audix ?

AVST has more bang for the buck but I still like Audix
the best.

Cheers:)

My boss also thinks there is better technology out there and wants to make sure that what we get will be around for awhile

Why not look into modular messaging. Still an avaya product but more powerful than audix.

Just because AVaya doesn't support a particular product anymore doesn't mean someone else doesn't either. AVaya is dropping support for their products faster and faster, so if U are intent on having factory support, you will be paying to update your equipment in most cases before it wears out.
Now in the case of your Intuity, it probabably DOES need to be replaced(or have a fully functioning backup system onsite) as it is fairly old, but if you are good with 'do it yourself' I would back it up with a 'spare' Intuity from Ebay or other source and run them into the ground. The exception to this would be if you need something that Intuity doesn't provide.
Just my opinion though.
