This is Outlook 2000/xp related...

I can view someone else inbox even though the roles given to default and anonymous users are set to "none" in the permissions tab on that other user's inbox. This also means that others can look at my inbox too. Why is this happening even though the permissions don't indicate so? And what can I do to prevent it? Thanks.

If you can view someone's inbox and you are certain that anyone can view yours (just don't theorize) with no delegate permissions assigned then permissions could be getting passed through from the Exchange server.

You would need to have the Exchange administrator check permissions.

I just became the Exchange admin. And in checking permissions for the mailbox store, I found a bunch of permissions set for "Everyone". These permissions include read and read permissions, and the scope included the mailbox store container and child objects. Some permissions were inherited and some weren't.

Whoever set it up must have given it no thought. Is it even safe to remove these permissions?
