I find the shape control useful for drawing circles and squares but I want an arrow! What's the best way of doing this? I want just an arrow on a transparent background which mustn't occlude other adjacent controls. Ideally I'd like to be able to vary the fill colour at run-time!

One thing that you can do is to set up a label, with a transparent background, and select the System Font and choose one of the arrow heads as the label caption, and align it to center. Then you can add a line to extend the length of the arrow. Set the BorderSize and BorderColor of the Line to Match the Arrow head size (based on Font Size/Bold), and Label Foreground color. Good Luck

The Webdings 3 Font also has quite a few arrow heads that you may find more appearling. A fairly easy way to set the caption is to use the Character Map utility (mine is Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Character Map) - choose the desired system, and press the select button on the Char Map dialog. Then Cut and Paste from the Char Map to the Label Caption property.
Good Luck

Thanks CC, that will do nicely. You would have got a star were it not for a Session.Member.Handle error - whatever that may be!
