Ok, here's the gig, I'm kind of taking a vacation.. but I can't leave one client's site alone.. So I have to drag my puter along.. That's not so bad but here's where the problem comes in.. I need a ISP that charges me a flat rate no matter where I call from so what I need is one with a toll free internet access number.. Is there such a thing?

If there isn't is there any other way to access an isp without getting charged huge long distance rates?

Thanks,
Tony Hicks

I would recommend setting up an account with a national ISP like Earthlink, MSN, AOL (sic) as they have a very large coverage area. Since long distance companies won't sell a flat rate 800 number, an ISP has to charge you by the minute to recover their costs and can't offer unlimited 800 access for a flat rate. You might find one that offers a set number of 800 time at no cost but other than that, I'd say you either find a national isp with local coverage or use 10-10-220 :)

Good luck,
GJ

Tony,
I'd go with earthlink -- they have enough local phone numbers, so I'd bet no matter where you were you could get a local number. If not, they do have an 800 number available. The last time I looked, you had to be part of a particular plan to access the 800 number and there was a limit.

Ahhh yes...! 10-10-220, Just a Buck for any call up to 20 minutes...!!

.....and 7 cents a minute after that! [afro]

Lol, my favorite one was Terry Bradshaw and Alf :)
