This kind of thing is what you do:

    If ThisDocument.PageSetup.Orientation = wdOrientLandscape Then
        MsgBox "Land"
    ElseIf ThisDocument.PageSetup.Orientation = wdOrientPortrait Then
        MsgBox "Port"
    End If
