Oracle Transparent Gateway for SQL Server

Hi there,

I successfully set up a connection from Oracle 10G running on Windows to a SQL Server database (after some struggling 'cause Oracle's documentation is absolutely shocking regarding this).

Anyway, I want to know if anyone has set up a connection to a SQL Server database using Oracle's Transparent Gateway when the Oracle DB is running on Unix? Do I need to download and install ODBC drivers for unix or do you need a "machine" between the Oracle server and SQL Server server to put the gateway instance on?

Any input much appreciated!
