Dear All,

Hello, hope all is clicking good!

I'd like to learn about Oracle administration; basics & essentials to know when administering an oracle server/database.

Will Certainly appreciate it if you can recommend links, books & any other information that can help me with this.

Also, are Oracle databases widely run in Windows systems?

Thanks!

Gabriel

Glad to be here!

otn.oracle.com is a great source

Oracle is run on windows...but most real heavy production systems will run *nix systems (can't afford the downtime to install weekly 'critical' patches to windoze OS)

Many are also turning to Linux (RedHat) to support DB...

If you are going to learn, you WILL need to become familiar with oracle and *nix
