Hi All,

I loaded the Oracle Agent on computer A

Whenever I tried to connect to the Oralce database I keep getting an error that reads "Invalid User ID or Password was submitted or Database Server Instance may be inaccessible If user ID is a windows domain account, please use Domain\Username"
I tried every account possible, but still getting the same error.
I have everyone full control on the database directory.

Question:
Do I need to load any form of the Oracle software\agent on the Server itself?

How to I reset the password on the Oracle Database for backup?

Thanks all.

The oracle agent needs to be installed on the machine which has oracle installed, you can back this up either using a local or remote host server installation.

You need to talk to the DBA to ensure you have the correct Oracle credentials to backup the database.

You can also try using the following format for the username:

username@SIDNAME

Resetting passwords in Oracle is something the DBA would do. The Oracle Agent Manual gives information on how the account needs to be setup and other configuration changes that need to be made.
