oracle 9i odbc driver compatability,very urgent!

Hi all,
Is Oracle 9 odbc driver is compatable with oracle 7 server?

According to Metalink, the Oracle 9i ODBC drivers are compatible with Oracle 8.0.6 and above. Oracle 7 database doesn't seem to be supported any longer.
