Optmize Internet Connection....

I've just re-installed Windows 98 etc on my computer...

In the past when I logged onto my ISP (Demon) it would go through dialing, verifying the password and then would almost instantly give me the connection.

Since installing with IE 5.5 the machine seems to stall for a long time on the password verification side of things (or the stage just after that!) before giving me the connection. After that though it works fine.

Could you please suggest any settings thaqt I should adjust to enable the connection like it used to be set?

In Advanced modem properties, make sure nothing is ticked except TCP/IP, Uncheck "log on to network". Cheers,

Many thanks.... I tried take off each option in turn in that section but it didn't seem to make any difference. But, with all switched off it's working great ;o)
