I posted the beginnings of this issue a month or so ago, and finally decided to try a cold start to see if it would clear. It did not.

PBX eventually booted from Z, but appears to be unable to read C. Does this give anyone information that would lead me to do anything other than do a clean install with an archived database? I have gathered known good SSC with dautherboard, key codes, archives and backups, and software on PCMCIA.

Thanks, Bruce

No, no passwords work. Cannot login to system though it functions without problem.

Leaning same direction....thanks

if that one comes up, it will be fat dumb and happy.. new install then TRY to load your cdb..

back in the old days, in the words of nortel "how fast can you type?"

Don't even want to think about the possibility that the database won't load, but am....typing speed not as much an issue as trying to figure out how everything is tied together. Thanks

What version is the switch? It's easy enough for a qualified vendor to fix lost passwords.

reloading software will not fix wrong passwords unless the passwords were changed after the last save.

Can you get into "pdt" inside there should be references to your system login accounts. I won't say anymore on this forum, but it should be possible to swap them over if you know the procedure.

I've done this in the past when I had a system with the wrong database installed.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I do know the procedure, but can't even get in to pdt (even that says that password is incorrect). Really don't believe it's a password issue at all. The tech on site tells me that there was a warning that the database was corrupt prior to this occurring. Appreciate all the ideas though.

Time to reload this machine. Use the new SSC and Daughter board and hopefully the Archive is before your system problem. Good luck.

Need help?

I would try an upgrade first and then if that does not work it may allow you to get into PDT and get the database.

I'd do a new install and follow my guide that should allow you to reuse your old backup stored on the "Z" CPU drive.

@Buddy / Bhassell2000 - I think Firebird meant to boot off the PCMCIA and reload it (it'd be like a dummy upgrade) and then restore from Z drive via FBUG.

Thats correct!. reload the software thats been loaded onto a PCMCIA card after formatting the daughterboard on the SSC card.

That is the plan...thanks for advice, and I will report back after success (or not).
