What is the optimum ambient temperature for a comms/server rack. Large organisations always have air conditioned server rooms obviously maintaining a constant ambient temperature, does anyone know what this is? I have a small office with temperatures soaring when it gets hot outside, its like a greenhouse and I am slightly concerned that the temperature may be getting to high. I know that the office reached 32c and so the server rack must have been higher. I now have a thermometer and can monitor the ambient temperature, currently around 26c. If anyone knows what the 'industry standard' ambient operating temparature for servers is I would like to know.

Cheers

We have an air conditioning unit here, it keeps around 19-20 degress C

We have 1 comm cabinet and about 15 servers in one room cooled by the unit also there is halogen gas should there be a fire

In the summer the room feels really cold compared to outside and in winter the room feels normal

I believe most of the server rooms I've worked in were set to 68F. (don't have my converter handy, sorry)
