Optimizing Win2K Pro with Photoshop?

Any suggestions on how to optimize Win2k with Photoshop 6.0?
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 P4 1.8 ghz and its seems slower than it should be?

Also any suggestions on how to optimize win2k pro in general for utilizing the P4?
