Hello,
We are having some performance issues with an Windows 2000 (SP4) Terminal Server which is being accessed by about 15 (concurrent) users. This terminal server runs the Microsoft Office 2003 suite and one client/server application. The server side of this application is also a Windows 2000 (SP4) server and the application uses an Interbase database.
The users use RDP thin clients and are spread all over the country and access the Terminal Server through a WAN with bandwidths ranging from 1024kbps to 2300kbps.
Using the performance monitor I noticed a very high value (50+!) in the Redirectory/Current Commands counter on the Teriminal Server, *not* the database server. I have been looking at serveral articles describing this problem and they all mention tuning the MaxCmds and MaxMpxCt values in the registry.
Before I begin with tweaking these values I would like to hear your experiences!
Thanks,
Jeffrey
