I was doing some changes and I screwed up my key input to where I was typing:

Req: MOV
type: TNB

Well, I did this twice and now the TTY port will only repeat the above when I hit any buttons.

I cant logout or login. Other TTYs are wokring but it shows this TTY as in use on LD32

Here is my log:

INI time ??

go to ld 37 and dis tty xx

then, re-enable.

Mato' Was'aka

Try logining in another TTY and do a FORC X, X being the TTY number

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

to FORC you have to login as level 2

HAVE YOU TRIED TO HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY AND HIT THE
8 KEY TO FOUR STAR OUT?

no problems only solutions

Thanks for the replies. TTY issue. It auto logged me out after 5 min. When I try to login, everything I do translates to hitting the enter key on that tty only. All other TTy`s work fine

I tried to enl/dis but no resolve. I will re-seat the paddle board and that should fix.

Thx

The terminal itself could be the problem.

If you can get to the caret prompt, type "LON" and see if that works - if not, type "LOF" (Line Mode On/Off)

But if you can't get to the caret prompt, just INI

its a known issue from nortel Pls install the latest patches

Another strange twist. J25 on core 1 will not respond to direct connect with my laptop.

Can someone tell me the procedure to fix this J25 port?

I will guess:

1.Switch Cores and see if Core 0 works
2.Switch back and try Core 1 again
3.Ini active core?
4.Call vendor and pray its not the backplane or CPU?

I`m sorry, but what is a known issue? The fact that a TTY port is not responding properly? This is not connected to a terminal. This is a tty used for modem dial-up.

I am assuming that this is a hardware issue with my paddle board and does not involve software patches to fix...

Yes, I cannot connect to core0 directly on J25. Is this a known issue that requires a patch? The above poster mentioned this before I mentioned the Core issue..

I see all of that. Please let us know what finally does solve it. Paddle boards are notorious for faulure - odd stuff, like you have. You might just try moving (in h/w and s/w) the port to another position on the paddle board.

Oddly I have run into some switches where J25 and J21 were reversed.

I was just able to get back and look into this. Both CPU on Core0 + 1 J25 will not respond.

I know this was working before. Error on CP card is 87 SDI 07. I will try to re-seat the paddle board but it looks like ini time....

TO close this out:

INI on switch, ports came back up. tty 7 is working fine. Ordered a new xsdi card and will replace the old one.

Thx to all...
