We are looking to migrate a seperate office to IP phones to connect back to our main sites OPT 11. Our only hurdles are the fax machines and analog lines.

Currently there is an existing OPT 11, running 37 digital sets 8 analog sets and 2 paging trunks. But this OPT 11 is being moved to start up another office in another town.

Bandwidth is no problem, our offices are connected by fiber.
What advice can you professionals give me?

we are also useing plain analog phones that need to be able to dial interoffice.

Another option, is to use either SIP or H.323 analog terminal adapters. These can be a little tricky to configure, but once they are in and working, they are great.

I think you could do several things.

If you want the phones at this site to look like they are on the main 11c system (which I assume is IP-enabled), you could go with the CS 1000B Branch office system, with a chassis with trunk cards (for 911 and fallback in case the big pipe fails) and analog line cards for faxes (just remember that these won't work for modems).

If you are running 5.x at the main site and have real low latency on the link in-between, you could also IP-enable (with an MGC card) a chassis - it may be cheaper than the CS 1000B, but if you lose the the link, your phones would be down too. The system would still look like one big PBX.

currently we have an opt 11c running succession 5 software, with a msc card and signaling server. we have 4-digit dialing to our offices in chattanooga, NY, baltimore, and Chicago.

the two offices in chattanooga are 2 blocks from each other on the same street and the local telco has fiber throughout the city.

we are trying to avoid a big hardware purchase because there is already working hardware there. if we are going to spend a bit on hardware there is no reason to take out the opt 11 and reconfigure it in dixon, IL. we could just purchase a new OPT 11 for that site.

we were looking at an all IP site until we ran into the analog lines.

we thought about doing the Remote Office 9150 but didnt know if it would be enough lines.

Does this spark any new ideas?

2 blocks away you might look into the mini carrier remote. You can have morte than one 9150.

Just looked at the original post again and the 9150 will not work for paging trunks. With the MSC card you have an option 11 mini and you can not use the 48 port DLC in any other model.

You best bet would probably be to buy another system for the new location. Maybe look into the BCM depending on the number of sets that you need.

Geo-redundancy is another option to look into.

SRG50. Much cheaper and supports analog lines (up to 4) for local faxing and 911 calling. 37 IP sets shouldn't be a problem.

The new location is currently running a 7 cabinet MICS RLS 4.1 and they have 4 ports remaining until they are FULL! A BCM was a thought but they are planning on some large scale hireing soon, and a pbx is easier for me to manage half a country away.
as far as paging goes, we are going to use valcom VoIP paging adapters. we are using one of those currently for a warehouse across town in chattanooga and it works perfectly. That is an all IP building and 911 works fine, we just set the CLID to a POTS fax line we have down there.
im sure that a few of these analog lines can be removed (replaced with IP) and we are utilizing a fax server which could replace the fax machines. would it still be better to look at a remote carrier or would the algo usb ata work for the few analog lines we need
