Hi,

i've got an old openserver box. which has a reboot overnight.

it been doing this fine from the dawn of time.

this morning it got as far as a :boot prompt and sat there waiting for some one to press return.

and now does the same on every reboot.
now /dev/root was at 100% due to a log file overflow now corrected, but other wise nothing has changed.

/etc/default/boot is
DEFBOOTSTR=hd(40)unix swap=hd(41) dump=hd(41) root=hd(42)
AUTOBOOT=YES
FSCKFIX=YES
MULTIUSER=YES
PANICBOOT=NO
MAPKEY=YES
SERIAL8=NO
SLEEPTIME=0
BOOTMNT=RO
and /etc/inittab hasnt changed since 1999..

any ideas?

all i can think of is maybe the cmos bat is flat and its asking for the time/date but if that was flat would it even get that far?

any ideas cheers
G
