I'm having a problem opening Crystal Reports files from within our company intranet on IE6 although they open fine on the desktop. From the intranet however it attempts to open the files with a completely different program (Corvu) that used to have the rights to .RPT files.

I've used the Windows Explorer Tools - Folder Options - File Types Advanced and set the following for RPT files

Action &open
Application used "C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Si\X86\CVW32.EXE" /dde %1
Use DDE checked
DDE Message [open("%1")]
Application cvw32
DDE Application not running blank
Topic system

As I've said this works fine if the Crystal Report is on the desktop but it doesn't on the intranet.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

PP

Have you looked at Google to see if there is a solution

There are 8 related Crystal forums on Tek-Tips you could look at.

This is the only MSKB mentioned for XP but I don't see anything relevant, but I'll post it anyway?

Crystal Reports 8.5 developer samples Web site does not open

after you un-associate and re-associate the RPT file types you may have to edit the registy to remove left-over references to Corvu.

i have run across a similar situation with another file type some time ago and this helped.

good luck.
