I need to open the following ports to allow access from the internet to a PC on my internal network;

Port 21 (FTP)
Port 990 (SFTP)
port 989 (SFTP)
Port 3667
Port Range 49152 to 65535

My Intention is to setup both inbound and outbound TCP Protocol Definitions for ports 21, 990, 989, and 3667 and use server publishing to direct traffic to these ports to the internal network PC. Is this the correct method of opening the forementioned ports? Will TCP definitions work given two of the above relate to SFTP?

Also I am unsure how to open a range of ports in ISA (49152 to 65535). Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Barry

For any incoming request to be services, use server/web publishing rules.

For any outgoing request (initiated from within your LAN) use protocol rules.

If you host services on your ISA Server which are available to the public, use packet filters.

You can define your own protocol settings, which also may containt of a range of TCP/UDP ports, or just one port.

FTP and FTPs should be available already so you only need to set up appropriate server publishing rules to make this available to the public.

Someone mentioned to me that SFTP was not supported by ISA. Is this correct?

Cheers,
