Hi,

I want to access a computer from another place. I tried to telnet on port 23, but a message appear with "...connection refused ..." in it. I want to know if it's possible to open, activate or whatever we call that, the port 23 so I can telnet on it. If so, how can I do such a trick?

Thanks

You have to ensure the telnet servoce is running. Right click on MY COMPUTER and go to MANAGE. Then expand the SERVICES AND APPLICATIONS section and go to SERVICES. Look for the Telnet service and see if it is running. If not then start it. This should allow you to telnet into your Win2K machine. James Collins

Are you sure you want to do this? If the pc is open to the internet, you just cerated a huge security gap unless it is behind a firewall (which you would then need to configure to forward requests on that port to you pc.) You might want to look into something like pcAnywhere.
