Is there a way to do this? When you use Excel, Word, etc to open a file, it jump to the first file of that type in the open file dialog box. Did I explain that right? Rather that starting on the first file or folder in the window, it will jump over every folder to the first file type for that program. Any help appreciated.

Dno't understand the question - can you rephrase or give an example of the problem.....

sure can. I am going to do a walkthrough. Open up Excel, go to file open and browse to a location that has folders as well as excel files. The first excel file is highlighted to be opened, rather than the first folder. So, if the file you need is in the first couple of folders you have to scroll to the left to find the folder you need. It does not bother me but I have some users who kind of freak out when they don't see the folders initially, which causes an unnecessary call to the help desk. Did that explain it better?
