Opening linked document on WebI in same window

Does anyone know the command to open a linked document in the same window?

I am currently using target ="_parent", but this does not seem to work consistently.

Shouldn't it be target="_self" ? Stick to your guns

Thanks for your tip. However, we are using SQL server and I discovered that the terminology works well if defined as target=_top without the quotation marks.
