That usually means the database is corrupt. You will have to go into the file in Access and run the repair and compact utility. I am not sure what version of Access you are using but you want to open Access first and then do a File --> Open from the menu. It will probably ask you if you want to repair the database and you say yes.
There are also many sorts of "Jet" databases. But in common use a Jet database means a MDB file, probably without forms, macros, queries, and so on in it.
Repair and Compact issues the same error message. "Unrecognized database format". Not sure what to try next. Is there a way to make sure this is a Jet DB or what version it was written with etc?
