Hello!

I have this PST or better say, OST Outlook file with very important e-mail files which had been saved from a PC that was going to be formatted. Now, the PC is back on going, and when trying to open the PST, it says that I don't have permission. That's kind of weird because I am the only one user for this PST, and nothing have changed, except that I formatted the PC. It's there a way I can get inside that PST file?

Thanks!

Is this a windows XP or 2000 system with an NTFS formatted drive? If so you need to take ownership of the file.

Id didn't work anyways. What it actually happened to be was that it was read only. And then, since it was OST, it woulnt open in outlook unless Outlook was offline. So, anyways... it was not what I was looking for. You know, when being in a beginners's stage a bunch of mistakes happens, and for good! I learned something new today!!!

Thanks anyways!!

Reg.

O well I should have finished reading the thread before responding but just in case you ever need to get into a password protected PST, this works.
