in outlook 2000/20002 can you create a shortcut on the shortcut bar to open another other users exchange calendar?

i have given correct permissions and have the automatic links in the file-open- 1 garrys(calendar) which works ok but what i want is a link in the left hand shortcut bar to each of the calendars.

Hi,

Yeah, the way i've done this in the past is:

1. Get Mark to email Paul a link to his calendar.
2. Drag the attached link to your desktop.
3. Drag the link onto the shortcut bar.

You dont seem to be able to drag it directly from the email for some reason, but that should work.

how do i send the calendar as a link?

why can't Mark and Gary share their mailboxes to each other then their calendars and then do tools services, exchange props, advanced and add in each others names?

That puts each others calendars into Outlook...

it's long winded but it works

1: Assign Permission to Your mailbox.

1. On the View menu, click Folder List if the list is not displayed.
2. Select the Outlook Today [Mailbox - <name>] in the Folder List.
3. On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Properties for the folder name.
4. Click the Permissions tab.
5. Click Default and set this to Reviewer.
(If users need more access then view only set them individually using the Add button
6. Click OK.

2: Assign Permission to Your Folders.

1. On the View menu, click Folder List if the list is not displayed.
2. Select the desired folder in the Folder List.
3. On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Properties for the folder name.
4. Click the Permissions tab.
5. Click Add to add the name of the user that you want to grant access to, or select Default.
6. Set the desired permissions, and then click OK.
The permissions affect what you are able to view.

3: Access the Primary Folder/s of Another User.

1. On the Tools menu, click E-Mail Accounts.
2. In the E-Mail Accounts dialog box, click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
3. Click Microsoft Exchange Server in the service box, and then click Change.
4. For the Exchange Server Settings, click More Settings.
5. On the Advanced tab, click Add.
6. In the Add Mailbox box, type the name of the mailbox owner (e.g. Garry Harper).
7. Click OK twice. This displays the Mailbox in the Folders list.

4: Placing A Shortcut On The Shortcut Bar.

1. Select the Outlook Shortcut Bar you wish to place the shortcut on (or create a new one)
2. On the File menu, click New then click Outlook Bar Shortcut.
3. Select the desired folder in the Folder List box.
4. Right click on the new shortcut and click Rename Shortcut to give it a more descriptive name like ‘Garry’s Calendar’

Note: in order for you to access other user’s folders they must give you permission.
