I don't know the syntax to make this work. I want to open this form and add a new record...

DoCmd.OpenForm [DataSource subform table],

docmd.OpenForm "form1",acNormal,,,acFormAdd "What a wonderfull world" - Louis armstrong

I see that I had brackets instead of quotes (sigh) Will I ever learn this stuff??

Thanks very much Chrissie

oh yes you 'll larn and love to hate it "What a wonderfull world" - Louis armstrong

Now I've changed what I want to do because that really didn't work out the way I had hoped.

I want to add a record in my subform if the main form has changed but rather than having a new box pop up, , which is what this code generates, just do it in the subform that is already on the page. Is there a quick line of code to do this? I kept getting errors, but maybe I had brackets instead of quotes :)

Thanks,
Melanie
