For some strange reason, the buttons on my video timelines which allow me to manipulate the video opacity (i.e. the opacity rubberbands) as well as show the keyframes are not there, even after I "expand" the video tracks (by clicking on the triangle). The same buttons DO appear on the audio tracks when I "expand" them (they are the volume and panning rubber bands). I seem to remember, when I first started using/playing with Premiere about 2 months ago, they were there, but I might have hit something that turned them off. Can you help me turn them back on? Adobe Help doesn't have the answer.

Look to the left of the timeline. I know for the audio tracks you can select the volume bands or the left/right bands to show by selecting them at the left-hand side of timeline. I think there is a similar option for the video tracks that allow you to see the bands.

I think...

You're correct that on the left side of the timeline (the first column on the left of the timeline window) there are buttons to turn the bands on/off, but my problem is that the buttons are no longer there! Somehow, in my aimless clicking when I first started using the program, I turned them off.

Anybody else?

I have found out that there IS a way to turn those buttons on and off...but not how to do it. So I'm not going crazy.

It would be worth selecting one (or more) of the standard Workspaces to see if that restored normal operation.

I had a similar issue, and found that when certain tools are selected (razor for ex.), the rubberband handles, keyframe marker button, etc. disappeared. Not having it installed on this computer, and not having worked in it for over a month, I cant tell you for sure which tool to select to make them reappear (probably the default black arrow tool). This is also assuming you are using Pro 1.5, since that is what I use.

I don't know if any of that helped. Hope so.
