Hi All

I've got this client that has a server and SQL Server installed on it! Client applications access it both via secure internet and network and they work fine! Now he has a shop in libya and would like to install the client application on it! The problem is that the internet connection is quite shitty and data access is extremly slow!

What do you think would be the best solution? I though of a SQL Server in libya and synchronising data in the evening....but if so i have no idea how to do it.

thanks
Nick

Merge replication seems to be adapted.
Snapshots for each servers will be merge in th evening (or when you want).
Just take a look on replication in BOL

How is this going to change in the evening?

How big is the database now and how big is it expected to grow?

My point is that you are still going to have the same internet connection, but now you are going to try and pass lots of data over it.

You might want to test the connection by having your client do a large retrieval (SELECT) overnight at the time you plan to do the replication.

no i said to do it over night because the shops will be closed and if it takes 2 hrs nobody will care!!
