I am in the process of installing Avaya Communicator with telephony-only features on a Windows 10 PC and am getting an Invalided User/password error when trying to log in.
I have enabled SIP Registrar Enable and also selected TCP only
I have programmed a user with a basic profile with a password. I have enabled One-x Communicator.
I have deleted and rebuilt user I have uninstalled and reinstalled Communicator

A couple of questions I have.
1. Does anyone have it working with windows 10?
2. Do you need a desk phone associated with it to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention No One x portal and communicator software is 2.0.3.45

I have it working on Win10.

What password do you use? It's the one from user programming first tab. What does SysMon say?

I am using password on user tab.. looking at sysMon now.
I have Tried this with an existing user with a phone and also created a user and selected none when it asked if I wanted to created an exten.
I have left the Domain name field blank assuming it should register to the LAN1 IP Address. Should I put a domain name in or IP address of system?

If the domain field in IPO is empty you can use the IP address. If it is set use that value as SIP domain.

ok. TY it is empty. still looking at sysmon

Avaya Documentation is confusing .So after using SYSMON I kept seeing error that extension did not exist. It kept looking for A SIP extension to register. I created an SIP extn and now it works.

But DOCS say this ( Reference #7)
Procedure
1. In the IP Office Manager navigation list, select User.
2. Enter the following user information:
• Name
• Password
• Confirm Password
• Extension
Note:
If the user is already configured to use a deskphone, the login code configured for the
deskphone cannot be used for Avaya Communicator. You must configure the extension
for the user to enter when logging into Avaya Communicator.
3. The following settings are optional. You can configure these settings, or use the default
values:
• Full name
• Locale
• Priority
• System phone rights
4. From the Profile list, select Basic User, Mobile User, or Teleworker.
5. Select Enable Avaya Communicator.
6. Click OK.
The system displays a dialog box and prompts you to add a new VoIP extension.

7. Select NONE as the extension type and click OK.
8. Click Save .

So my next question is can a USER who has an H323 desk phone use the same exten for One X soft phone or it has to be a different number since The Communicator is SIP and Deskphone is IP.

Thanks for the help.

With OneXPortal it is possible. Never tested without tbh. I guess it should work without having to create another extension.

That portion of the doc is technically correct, as if you have a POWER USER, there is no need to create the SIP extension, hence it says to select NONE.

Since you are doing the free, you would need to create the SIP extension.
