I have a simple client/server model running between two machines; one is running Windows XP Professional and one is running Windows 2000. When I send a connection request (using the winsock control) from the XP machine to the 2000 machine, everything works fine. However, when I try to send a connection request from the 2000 machine to the XP machine, I receive a connection timed out error on the 2000 machine.
I guess that there can't be any problem with the code or it wouldn't work in any configuration. I've tried turning off the XP firewall and this made no difference. Is there some other "feature" of XP that could prevent access?
