I am using Avaya S8720 as my PBX solution with 5.1 software. All of the sudden we are having issues with one way talk paths on all of our ip hard phones and soft phones. Problem is occurring on internal and external calls. Problem is intermittent. Any ideas?

If it is truely on every phone than look back to the Medpro resource. Call into a station until you get the one way. Status the station to see which Medpro resource is in use. Run through a couple dozen calls to see if it is consitant. Go to the Avaya support site and verify your firmware is consistant with your PBX version. Also look at PCN's. There have been several coving issues with phones and medpro's. IP Phones should be on either 2.887 for 46xx (don't use 2.9010 since it re-introduced the gain/speaker issues from 2.7). Assuming you are using all TN2602 Medpro boards. TN2302 V3 should not be used anymore since they don't support FAX and Modem pass-through. Boards have 4 signal processors with multiple channels. Typically one channel on one processor will go bad and is a pain in the neck to track down. Nobody has been able to tell me the hunt sequence on the boards but I'm almost positive they are linear. Get 5 calls on processor and number 5 is bad then next caller who is number 5 on the board will also have a bad call. Points to linear progression.

Do you defined the UDP ports properly? Do you have any firewall or ACLs on the network? When you perform "status ip-network-region #" # - NR number, what do u see? This test the communication between your NRs.
