We have a user who wants a one-way speaker set up... basically it should output the sound from the call, but provide no input. He would use his handset to speak on the call.

This is just a simple setting for his extension ("listen-only") correct? That would allow him to have the one way speaker on and still use his handset?

Secondly, is there a way to set up a button for the one way speaker so he could still use a two way speakerphone as well? I know in the extension programming its hard coded one way or the other

thanks

Well there is a button he could hit... Mute.

The programming on page 1 of the station form will make it 1-way speaker phone.

Unless he wants to speak thru the headset, but listen over the speaker phone - is that correct?

Thanks,
CJH

If you are using a 6400 series or 2420/2410 series phone you can use the grp-listen mode:

Group Listen works with only 6400-series and 2420/2410
telephones. Group Listen allows a telephone user to talk
and listen to another party with the handset or headset
while the telephone’s 2-way speakerphone is in the listen-only
mode. Others in the room can listen, but cannot speak to
the other party via the speakerphone. The person talking on
the handset acts as the spokesperson for the group. Group
Listen provides reduced background noise and improves
clarity during a conference call when a group needs to
discuss what is being communicated to another party.

It is administered on Page 1 in the Speakerphone option. I believe this is an all or nothing type of deal...could be wrong. I will test when I get a chance.

he wants to speak over the handset , but have the convo come out through the speakerphone so people in the room can hear, but not be heard.

thanks!

My previous reply will work. This is the only current feature that will accomplish this, AFAIK...again, only with a 6400 series, 2420, or 2410 phone.
