Trying to clear Event Error 8021 Sourse Browser. When I run Windows 2000 Server Resourse tool "Browser Monitor" all my servers show the Primary Domain Controller as the Master Browser except for the ISA server. It thinks it is the Master Browser. I can force an election by stopping the browser service on the ISA and it decides that the PDC is the Master Browser like everyone else. Just as soon as I start the Browser Service on the ISA, it takes over Master Browser duties but just for itself.
Also, in the Browser Monitor on the ISA Server it shows our domain twice. Onc in red and once in yellow. Can never open the red ones properties. The yellow ones opens but usually only shows one of the domain controllers as a backup Master Browser.
Any ideas of what is wrong here. The ISA is dual nic with a LAN and WAN card. I have a single domain. Not sure what to do here at all
Please advise. Thanks

try turning off the browser service and see if it makes a difference on the ISA server

Sounds like the bindings on your ISA are wrong. Make sure you have disabled everything except TCP/IP on the external NIC, plus make sure the internal NIC is 1st in the bindings order.

Thanks Gentlemen,
I tried turning off the isa servers browser service and it immediately reverts to the domain controller for master browser. As soon as I start the Isa Browser Service again, Isa server thinks it is the master browser.
ADB100, what things on the external nic are you talking about exactly. Do you mean I should not have anything else in the general box except the Internet Protcol(TCP/IP). That would mean either disabling or removing Client for Microsoft Networks, QoS Packet Scheduler, and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks from the external Nic. If that is correct, please let me know. When I think about it, it makes sense not to have the others on the external because they are necessary on the internal nic.
Thanks for answering, I will check my email tomorrow.

Andy,
I was just rereading your advice and I am not sure how I I insure that the internal nic is 1st in the binding order. Can you explain that to me and I will research that phrase.
Thanks again..

Andy,
Did my research and it payed off. Know exactly what you are talking about and I am sure that you are on the money. Thanks again

Andy,
Thank You so much. My binding was off on both my ISA server and a mail and web server that were both dual nic at one time. Event errors have dropped like a rock.
Thanks again,
Todd
