One other question about the ASUS "A7V880" VIA KT880 1

I only have one 512 64x64 DDR pc2700 memory. Would I need to buy another one in order to get the best perforamance?

 

As with all dual channel motherboards, a matching pair of modules is prefered to unmatched or singles, that doesn't mean it doesn't work, just that you won't be taking advantage of the 1 to 3% speed advantage the dual channel feature offers (1-3% isn't much but it's better than nothing)
