On closing window

Hello. Can you tell me how can I call a function when the user closes the window/tab?

Try attaching a handler to the "onunload" or "onbeforeunload" events.

Yup. But it also triggers the function when the user moves to another page.

Then you're probably out of luck, unless you can find some browser-specific techniques (so you'd need one for Safari, one for Firefox, one for IE 7...).
